The ENT Department at Lumbini Eye Institute & Research Center – Shree Ranaambika Shah Eye Hospital, Bhairahawa was established in 2081/2082 B.S. and has already made significant progress. In our very first year, we served over 5,000 patients and performed more than 500 minor surgical procedures, reflecting both the demand for quality ENT care and our commitment to providing it.

Our Services

We provide comprehensive care for conditions related to the ear, nose, throat, airway, and voice, supported by advanced diagnostic facilities. Our services include:

  • Removal of foreign bodies from the ear, nose, and throat
  • Management of nasal bleeding, nasal blockage, and loss of smell
  • Treatment for ear discharge, reduced hearing, and tinnitus (ringing in the ears)
  • Care for sinusitis, migraine, and headache-related complaints
  • Evaluation and treatment of voice changes, breathing difficulties, tonsil and adenoid problems
  • Advanced nasal and throat video endoscopy with image documentation
  • Outpatient microscopic ear examination (Microscopic Ear Evaluation)
  • Combination of expert specialists and modern technology for safe and effective treatment

  • Eight medical professionals have completed basic ENT training under our department in the past year
  • Two research studies are currently ongoing, strengthening academic and clinical progress
  • Plans to expand training opportunities across the LEIRC network
Reaching the Community

Patients visit us from Lumbini Province, neighboring districts of India, and abroad, including international pilgrims to Lumbini (UNESCO World Heritage Site).

Looking Ahead

We are preparing to establish a fully equipped ENT operation theatre and dedicated inpatient ward services, which will allow us to provide advanced surgical care in the near future.
