Clinical laboratory is always a vital department in any hospital. It helps doctor to find out the cause of disease and to select most significant treatment. Clinical laboratory also serves as a source center of data for different kinds of clinical research.
LEI has two sections in its Laboratory Department i.e. General laboratory department and Microbiology Department.
Microbiology Department is running from beginning and it offers culture and sensitivity service of various eye samples. There are two staffs in microbiology department, they are Lab technician (DMLT) and lab assistant (MLA). Microbiology lab has great role in the diagnosis of infectious eye diseases and also for treatment.
General Laboratory Department is running since October 7, 2007. There are Six staffs in this section, they are Lab technologist (BMLT), Three lab assistants (MLA) and general assistant.
