Message from Chairman: NNJS Lumbini Province and Hospital Management Committee, LEIRC
Lumbini Eye Institute and Research Center/ Shree Rana Ambika shah Eye Hospital is one of the pioneer institutions in eye care service in Nepal. Working in the guidance of the parent organization (Nepal Netra Jyoti Sangh) in eye care service since 1983, we have come across with many hurdles and summits till the date to reach to the point at which we are today. It is the matters of pride for all of us that the institution has excel in Clinical service, Research and Academics in Nepal and abroad as well.
This institution has established itself as the tertiary hospital and has been delivering the quality, comprehensive and affordable eye care services. With the aim deliver eye care services within the easy access of the people, LEIRC has expanded its services via 5 secondary hospitals, 3 district eye care centers and 11 Primary eye care centers. I also would like to ensure you that we are planning to flourish the concept of medical tourism in eye care via affordable and comprehensive in near future. Apart from providing clinical services LEIRC is also committed to generate skilled human resource in ophthalmic science through academics via MD ophthalmology and Bachelor degree in Optometry and PCL ophthalmic science.
I am really grateful to all the national and international partners, ours staffs, local communities and stakeholders, who have been supporting us directly or indirectly to develop this institute as the model tertiary eye care center and helping us to fulfill our motive, i.e. “to eliminate the avoidable blindness and prevent the people go blind due to poverty.”
