Prof. Dr. Salma KC Rai
Another year has gone by and this fiscal year 2014/15 has been a remarkable year for our hospital. As we have completed 31 glorious years of eye care service starting initially with only two rooms and few staffs within the premises of district general hospital in 1983, LEI today has upgraded itself to a leading eye care center with sufficient infrastructure, ultra-modern equipment, well-trained, dedicated and skilled human resource, which was possible only with the generous and tremendous effort and support put in by various national and international organizations including the promoting partner organization SEVA foundations.
For LEI 2014/15 has been an extremely exciting year. We achieved various milestones in the field of teaching learning activities.
MOU has been re-signed with National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS) for MD ophthalmology program. We do have ongoing educational activities with Casey Eye Institute (CEI), Portland.
Champalimaud research department has been established.
Premium paying clinic has also been planned for the coming year from which LEI could add on to the facilities of the patient care. LEI is incredibly grateful to all our international friends and supporters.
We thank each and every partner organizations for taking their time to contribute to our hospital in such a meaningful way. Without your continuous support, LEI could not have been the high quality facility eye care center as it is today. I hope you delight in reading about the activities of LEI and our achievements.
At the end I would like to thank our dedicated and hard working staffs who work tirelessly to provide compassionate care to our patients. I would also like to thank the research committee and the editorial board for their humble contribution.
I would also like to thank all the service seekers for trusting us and having faith in us.
